A selection of foam control agents are available for a wide range of problems.
These include:
- A general purpose defoamer for use in systems that require quick initial "knockdown".
- A product formulated specifically for resolving difficult foam problems in systems where adverse pH conditions exist. Also effective in systems that experience high levels of shear.
- A specialised product designed for systems that have persistent problems with micro bubbles. It is based on a blend of synthetic esters and glycols; and is free of mineral and silicone oils.
- A defoamer that is effective in systems that experience extreme conditions of pH and temperature. It is free of mineral and silicone oils.
- A defoamer that is designed for a wide range of non-aqueous systems.
- It is a silicone-solvent based blend.
- A product that is a 100% active silicone antifoam compound that is used to suppress the formation of foam in non-aqueous based systems.
Surfactants
| Polyglycol Esters |
These products are useful non-ionic emulsifiers for a variety of systems including mineral oils, vegetable oils, and solvents. Specific blends for these systems can be supplied on request |
| Glycol Esters |
These products are useful as lubricants, emulsion stabilisers, dispersants and as antifoam agents. |
| Sulphosuccinates |
This class of anionic compound is useful for any problem-involving wetting out of a surface or coupling of components to enhance clarity for both aqueous and non-aqueous systems. |
| Phosphate Esters |
A range of anionic phosphate esters can be prepared based on various non-ionic bases. They fill a dual role in being wetting agents or emulsifying agents similar to non- ionic surfactants from which they are derived as well as showing improved solubility/ temperature characteristics in water, alkali, and salt solutions. |
Dispersants
Several dispersants are available to ensure the efficient dispersion of a wide range of pigments and extenders used in the surface coatings industry.
- Polyacrylate solutions that has good compatibility with glycols even in the absence of added water, a factor that may be important during the drying process.
- Condensate Naphthalene Sulphate compounds are anionic in character and available in powder and liquid forms.
- Polyglycol esters are low foaming dispersants that that is used in high gloss emulsions.
Antistatic Agents
These products are custom formulated and manufactured to meet individual requirements. Typical formulated products are based on:
- Polyglycol esters
- Alcohol Phosphates
- Sulphosuccinates and Succinamates
- Fatty Acid Alkanolamides
- Organometallic Soaps
Metal Soaps
This range of products are based on Metal Naphthenates and Octoates and the typical applications are in Paint, Print Ink driers and as Resin Catalysts.
